The channel is the answer, not a results page
A prospective patient can ask an AI system to compare clinics, explain trade-offs, or recommend a short list. The clinic may be named, explicitly recommended, placed in a leading position, or supported by a cited source. Those outcomes are related, but they are not interchangeable.
Four outcomes to keep separate
Mention rate asks whether a clinic is named. Explicit recommendation rate requires clear recommendation or ordered language. Top-position rate looks only at defined leading positions. Citation rate asks whether a reviewed clinic-owned or associated source supports the answer.
Why a dated benchmark matters
AI outputs vary by provider, date, language, market, and context. A responsible benchmark freezes the query set, repeats observations, preserves the raw evidence, and reports the sample with its limitations.
What the benchmark cannot prove
Visibility does not prove treatment quality, patient demand, revenue, or a permanent ranking. It identifies where a clinic appears, where competitors win, and what evidence may deserve review.
